… he wanted to tell this to the world. (continued from yesterday’s blog)
He wanted to talk to the girl but there was something which was keeping him from approaching the girl. She had become a real and strong crush in very few hours. It was not like that the guy was shy, he had few girls in his main college group with whom he never found it difficult to talk. But with “SHE” something was up. One day he thought, he will just go and talk to the girl casually not making a big deal of it. Next day after class when the professor told the group that the class is going to attend a seminar and this is necessary for everyone to go. “HE” thought his chance has come knocking the door, so he decided to take the awaited conversation to delay one more day.
Delhi’s lifeline is metro, millions of people travel in it, so were the class going to. The night before the seminar a discussion started in the WhatsApp group where and when everyone will meet. “HE” never was an involved member of the group but when her crush started typing he felt something inside which is still ineffable. He started praying for a yes for seminar message from her side and seconds after, the message arrived “I am in, I will meet at Rajeev Chowk metro station”. It wasn’t a big deal for other group member but it was breathtaking for “HE”. There are very few times when ‘HE’ thanks god and that moment was one of them. “HE’ was ready to talk to her, he rehearsed what to say and how to say next morning after the shower before leaving for the seminar.
Everyone was on time and they took the metro train from Rajeev Chowk to AIIMS. Few were standing and few got seats in the train. Luckily ‘HE’ managed to sit along ‘SHE’. He was feeling nervous to start the conversation but he imagined, this is the best chance he could ever get to talk to her. Boosting all the confidence and energy he could ever have brought from his body, he asked her very casually “where do you stay”. The girl answered him very gently and then the guy was lost in the grace, elegance, and beauty of the girl more than the conversation. He was trying his best casual conversation and he became successful in that. During the conversation, he suddenly realized that he has reached the destination station. He was like why didn’t it took 10 more years to reach AIIMS metro. They de-boarded the train and the group divided as they had to take the auto to reach the place where the seminar was going to happen.
From then until the last day of college more like for next 20 days they never got an opportunity for conversation. Till then the guy had fallen in love with her. He used to watch her daily entering the class, her stay in class and her getting out of the class not all the time because he had to prepare for the final presentation too and DU isn’t an easy place to get good marks.
It was the last class of the course, after class everyone decided to hang out a little. ‘HE’ knew this could be the last time they will be seeing each other. After class everyone went to a place where they ate something. ‘HE’ neither knew the name of the thing she ordered nor the name of the place they were eating. He just knew that her order was something related to chocolate- sandwich or something. The place they went was in Patel Chest named KB’s who were a street vendor so there wasn’t enough place for everyone to sit. “HE” was standing there watching her eat and while eating his own food was thinking what to do.
After finishing the food, the group started moving to the nearest metro station on their way back home. ‘HE’ had a walking distance to his PG from Patel Chest but he decided against it and went metro station along with the group giving himself one more chance of talking to her and experiencing the love which he never thought he would ever experience. While walking to the metro station he managed to walk with “SHE” alone, little ahead of everyone because one of the girls was struggling with her leg. ‘HE’ knew that this could be the last time he will be seeing her, he just wanted to see her until they reach the metro station. ‘HE’ kept the conversation very casual not letting her know that he was in love with her.
He watched her not understanding the massy joke and giving weird expression, he watched her laughing at the sickest joke any guy would have ever pulled. The joke was on the girl who was struggling with leg because she had dislocated her ankle and had plaster on it. ‘HE’ joked about her slow walking telling ‘SHE’ that the girl is trying to pull Raghav’s known as Crocroaz slow-motion dance. The guy had never felt this way for any girl, he wanted to tell her that he likes her but it was too early as they barely knew each other. It was the only second conversation they were having. “HE” wanted few more minutes with her but they had already reached the station by then. “HE” would have wanted more minutes even though he would spend the whole week with her, such was the magnetic charm she had.
Though every guy in the class didn’t feel the same way but she was really really special for him. He wanted to hug her and say goodbye but only managed to shake hand with having no intention to leave her hand ever but he had too. Love could have easily been seen in the eye of “HE” when he was saying her Goodbye. She was not aware of anything; she didn’t even think that they were friends. She thought that they were just classmates.
This is the end of chapter 2. In 3rd Chapter we will look at the final time they meet and what happens then and after.
