ऑक्शन के तीसरे राउंड में बिके गेल ने अपने दुसरे आईपीएल मैच में ही शतक जमाया।

“यूनीवर्स बॉस” के नाम से मशहूर कैरेबियाई क्रिकेटर क्रिस गेल को 2011 के आईपीएल ऑक्शन में भी किसी ने नहीं खरीदा था और 2018 के ऑक्शन में भी लगभग अनसोल्ड रह गए थे, वो तो भला हो विरेन्द्र सहवाग और प्रीति जिंटा का जिन्होने आईपीएल के सिक्सर किंग को अपनी टीम में शामिल किया नहीं तो इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग में सबसे ज्यादा मनोरंजन करने वाले खिलाड़ी से आईपीएल फैंस दूर रह जाते।  
2011 में आधे आईपीएल के खत्म होने के बाद चोटिल खिलाड़ी की जगह रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बैंगलोर की टीम में शामिल हुये गेल ने ऐसा तूफान मचाया कि पुरी दुनिया देखती रह गयी। टूर्नामेंट के बीच में आने के बाद भी नाहीं सिर्फ ऑरेंज कैप जीता बल्कि अपनी टीम को प्लेऑफ में पहूँचाया। उस आईपीएल में गेल ने सभी टीमों को ये महसूस कराया कि गेल को न खरीदकर कितनी बड़ी गलती की थी उन्होंनें।
2018 के आईपीएल ऑक्शन में भी न तो पहले राउंड में न ही दूसरे राउंड में क्रिस गेल को खरीदा गया लेकिन आखिरी राउंड़ में पंजाब की टीम ने उन्हें शामिल किया। पहले दो मैच में बेंच पर आराम कर रहे गेल को शायद लगा होगा कि कहीं इस बार आईपीएल में उन्हें अपना जलवा दिखाने का मौका ही ना मिले लेकिन पंजाब के कोच विरेन्द्र सहवाग ने तूफानी बल्लेबाज गेल को तीसरे मैच में शामिल किया जिसका जवाब गेल ने अर्धशतक के साथ दिया और अगले मैच में अपनी जगह पक्की की।

अब पंजाब का अगला मैच मजबूत गेंदबाजी वाली हैदराबाद से था, गेल और अच्छे फॉर्म में चल रहें के एल राहूल पारी की शुरुआत करने आए उसके बाद जो हूआ उसने 2011 की याद दिला दी। गेल ने 11 गगनचूंबी छक्के लगाते हुये 103 रनों की बेहतरीन वापसी की। टी-ट्वेंटी के नंबर एक गेंदबाद राशिद खान को लगातार चार छक्के लगाकर गेल ने ये साबित कर दिया कि दूनिया का कोई भी गेंदबाज उनके सामने कुछ नहीं। उन्होंने एक बार फिर अपने बल्ले से आलोचकों के साथ साथ दूसरी टीमों के मैनेजमेंट को भी सोचने पर मजबूर किया। अब शायद ही यूनीवर्स बॉस को पंजाब की टीम आखिरी ग्यारह से बाहर करने की सोचेगी।

Democracy allows protest, not violence and death with it.

We have seen many popular protests in India. Some were democratic and some were non-violent and undemocratic. Famous Anna Hazare’s agitation for Lokpal Bill in country’s Capital was non-violent and very cooperative. Jat Agitation in country was violent and the government lost crores. And then there were people who went mad over arresting of Ram Rahim Baba. Here also we lost capitals. Before few days farmers were protesting in Maharashtra which was very silent and non-violent. Protests and agitations makes democracy beautiful but on the name of them if you are involved in killing of people how could you justify it. Great Mahatma Gandhi had many shades, his best one was non-violence. However, some people think that there were instances where he should have gone against it. .I have never been a fan of worshipping and praying to almighty God. I respect those people who follow them and pray for a better tomorrow but I never found the logic behind it.
