Are you skeptic enough to succeed?

How many times you have given second thoughts on decoding Social media forwarded message as truth. Do you seriously think that all the stuffs which you receive as a forwarded message is a truth? Most of you would have forwarded those fake content to hundreds. Do you seriously think that the company is going to give you something absolutely free by just forwarding a message to 10 people? Don’t tell that you haven’t done it because we all have done it once in a life or more. I too thought that I could win an IPhone by forwarding a message to 10 people and I was wrong. The most disgusting thing I saw on social media was, if I will not send that message to 10 people, then I will die. Seriously?
Technology advancement has made our life very easy, everybody knows that, but do we know that it has made us more vulnerable and an easy target. Our personal data is sold at cheap prices to firms. How do you think, how do they get your contact details? They obviously mean those callers who call you for Credit Cards, to sell products, to ask for fund and to ask for your bank details to rob you under your nose.
One thing I have learned in all these years since; I have been a part of Journalism industry is skepticism. Journalism taught me to be very skeptic about things, either you are going to buy a product in market or you are watching news. Every intellectual is aware of this fact that media channels have been doing yellow Journalism. And in doing so, sometimes they compromise with the authenticity of the news.
There have been many instances after a riot, when it was found that riot started because of the fake news which led to many deaths. It’s not about how much technologically advanced we have become, it’s about how we are using the tech. In a country like India where people are not skeptic and have become easy targets of political lobbied IT-Cell. A country where people easily believe whatever they get on social media and that’s why often called as emotional fools. We need to enlarge our skeptic mind and shouldn’t believe on the dangerous social media.
I am not telling here to be skeptic about family, friends or specially on better-half’s. But being skeptic about the government policies, news, content on social media, fake phone calls, business-frauds etc. can work wonders on staying away from danger and being robbed. We should become vigilant on anything which enters our hippocampus. This will help us succeed, take my word.

Democracy allows protest, not violence and death with it.

We have seen many popular protests in India. Some were democratic and some were non-violent and undemocratic. Famous Anna Hazare’s agitation for Lokpal Bill in country’s Capital was non-violent and very cooperative. Jat Agitation in country was violent and the government lost crores. And then there were people who went mad over arresting of Ram Rahim Baba. Here also we lost capitals. Before few days farmers were protesting in Maharashtra which was very silent and non-violent. Protests and agitations makes democracy beautiful but on the name of them if you are involved in killing of people how could you justify it. Great Mahatma Gandhi had many shades, his best one was non-violence. However, some people think that there were instances where he should have gone against it. The country lost millions of Capital with the Bharat Bandh today when people were on road protesting against the decision of supreme court in making changes in SC\ST act. Disagreeing with the decision and marchi...

Chapter-5, A story of “HE” and “SHE” and how dream made him do things.

…after that they have only seen each other on Instagram or Facebook.   (continued from chapter 4) After few months they stopped talking to each other on WhatsApp. It felt like the end of his one-sided short love. Next morning “HE” woke up with a dream in which they were fighting against all the odds for their love. The guy took some inspiration from the dream and didn’t want to let his love down. His love wasn’t mutual so he had very little chance of succeeding in it.  He thought, he better tells his feelings to her before it gets too late otherwise he would regret it his whole life. He was very sure this time unlike other times that he would tell her about his love. The guy was playing his last card to make her own, but God had written some other fate for both. “HE” finally wrote a proposal and thought twice before sending it to her. I would have loved to quote his proposal but that will be breaching the privacy line. The proposal was precise and had a lot of inf...

Chapter 2, We played Cricket on mountains

In chapter 1, I opened about how I got into this mass communication. In this chapter I will tell you about the experiences of field. When I was done with graduation, I was looking for a job. Even though I wanted it to be related to journalism but I didn’t get one. There were people back from hometown telling me to find one and utilise my time.   My brother had a friend, who got me hooked with my first job as a content writer which didn’t last more than 20 days. Neither I enjoyed working there nor they paid enough for me to stay. Once, when I was working there I got a call from someone whom I knew from my previous internship asking me to work for a   web portal in Himachal Pradesh. I was more than happy to take that offer into consideration and after talking to my parents I finally decided to take that. That’s how I reached Himachal Pradesh probably one of the beautiful places I have ever been and found myself a dream job. It was really awesome roaming between mountain...
