Chapter 3 : Delhi is a tough place for journalists.

In chapter 2 we looked how good my experience was working for 2017 Legislative Elections in Himachal Pradesh.  Chapter 3 will be focused on the experiences of Delhi.
After the second year in college I always wanted to contribute to the journalism industry. Our Very respected Smita Mishra Mam who is always so kind and caring other than being a very good Professor. If I am not wrong she told us exactly the same thing in 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year that “In around 30 faces I see here, only few or no more than 5 can make it to the journalism industry”. She was so sure about it. And today I don’t see more than 5 faces from my batch in this industry. Maybe more will come in coming years but as of now she was correct.
I am lucky that I am one of those five people who made it. Although, I am struggling because it is the most challenging phase of my career and it has just begun.  20 MLAs were disqualified by President Ram Nath Kovind because it was alleged that they had hold office of profit. So for more than a month these seats were vacant and people were talking for the by-elections on these seats. Wherever election goes we follow, this time it was the national capital.
Working in Delhi is not as pleasant as it was in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal didn’t have variety of people to offer but Delhi has. People from different states live here so different minds can be found. When we were in Himachal we didn’t have to change the way of communication according to people but in New Delhi We have to. Poor’s are more vulnerable as said by some greats, gives us the benefit because they are easy to talk to. They have lots of things to say to journalists. It is very difficult to communicate with rich people because they don’t have much time to give. They have enough money to not give a damn, if the government is availing them all the facilities or not.
Field Job is interesting as well as exhausting. Saddest part is, not so pleasant weather of the National capital. Heat of the sun kills our will to work. There comes the role of our mind, it is tested whether it could do the smart work or not. Yes, I work smartly by not wasting not much of a time and energy at the peak time of sunlight. Instead I use early and late noon to work. Some of the college friends work together and I have made some new ones too.
That’s the end of 3rd and final Chapter. I Hope it was good enough to let you go through my journey briefly.  I will keep writing on other stuffs.

Democracy allows protest, not violence and death with it.

We have seen many popular protests in India. Some were democratic and some were non-violent and undemocratic. Famous Anna Hazare’s agitation for Lokpal Bill in country’s Capital was non-violent and very cooperative. Jat Agitation in country was violent and the government lost crores. And then there were people who went mad over arresting of Ram Rahim Baba. Here also we lost capitals. Before few days farmers were protesting in Maharashtra which was very silent and non-violent. Protests and agitations makes democracy beautiful but on the name of them if you are involved in killing of people how could you justify it. Great Mahatma Gandhi had many shades, his best one was non-violence. However, some people think that there were instances where he should have gone against it. The country lost millions of Capital with the Bharat Bandh today when people were on road protesting against the decision of supreme court in making changes in SC\ST act. Disagreeing with the decision and marchi...

Chapter 2, We played Cricket on mountains

In chapter 1, I opened about how I got into this mass communication. In this chapter I will tell you about the experiences of field. When I was done with graduation, I was looking for a job. Even though I wanted it to be related to journalism but I didn’t get one. There were people back from hometown telling me to find one and utilise my time.   My brother had a friend, who got me hooked with my first job as a content writer which didn’t last more than 20 days. Neither I enjoyed working there nor they paid enough for me to stay. Once, when I was working there I got a call from someone whom I knew from my previous internship asking me to work for a   web portal in Himachal Pradesh. I was more than happy to take that offer into consideration and after talking to my parents I finally decided to take that. That’s how I reached Himachal Pradesh probably one of the beautiful places I have ever been and found myself a dream job. It was really awesome roaming between mountain...
