India won the match, SA won our hearts.

Chasing  a mammoth total of 481 on bowling paradise surface of Kotla playing against one of the best spin attacks in the world was impossible when you were bowled out on 121 in first innings.South Africans shown their big determination by surviving almost 5 sessions on difficult surface. Even though South Africa lost the series 3-0,one can't forget the fight they showed in the final innings of the final match. They played an astonishing numbers of  overs - 143.1. The trio of Amla, de Villiars and Du plesis played their hearts out, battling against all odds as they curbed their natural instincts of being aggressive. They did manage to shut the Indians out for quite a while, but in the end time it was test match which turned out as little much for the viewers. One can't help but ponder what would have happened if SA would have hung their for another 45 minutes .

Though proteas were completely outplayed in that series but we saw the glimpses of what Hashim Amla, A B devilliars and Faf du PLesis could do. Where Amla played an match saving innings of 25 from 244 balls there ABD played innings of the series by survivng 297 balls and making 43 runs. Du plesis opened his account of runs on 53rd balls, these number says it all.

Till tea of the final day of of kotla match SA were 136/5, they survived 4 sesions comfortably but after tea it was umesh yadav who brought india in to the match with the help of reverse swing with an incredible spell of 3 overs in which all were maiden and he took 3 wickets in them. Ashwin was declared man of the series for his record breaking bowling as he took 31 wickets  in the series highest by any one in one test series and making 101 runs.

India registered their biggest win in terms of numbers by 337 runs. Rahane was awarded Man of the match for his maiden century at home  in first innings and 100 Not Out in second innings. With this win india reached 2nd in ICC Test Ranking following SA who is on top.

Democracy allows protest, not violence and death with it.

We have seen many popular protests in India. Some were democratic and some were non-violent and undemocratic. Famous Anna Hazare’s agitation for Lokpal Bill in country’s Capital was non-violent and very cooperative. Jat Agitation in country was violent and the government lost crores. And then there were people who went mad over arresting of Ram Rahim Baba. Here also we lost capitals. Before few days farmers were protesting in Maharashtra which was very silent and non-violent. Protests and agitations makes democracy beautiful but on the name of them if you are involved in killing of people how could you justify it. Great Mahatma Gandhi had many shades, his best one was non-violence. However, some people think that there were instances where he should have gone against it. The country lost millions of Capital with the Bharat Bandh today when people were on road protesting against the decision of supreme court in making changes in SC\ST act. Disagreeing with the decision and marchi...

Chapter-5, A story of “HE” and “SHE” and how dream made him do things.

…after that they have only seen each other on Instagram or Facebook.   (continued from chapter 4) After few months they stopped talking to each other on WhatsApp. It felt like the end of his one-sided short love. Next morning “HE” woke up with a dream in which they were fighting against all the odds for their love. The guy took some inspiration from the dream and didn’t want to let his love down. His love wasn’t mutual so he had very little chance of succeeding in it.  He thought, he better tells his feelings to her before it gets too late otherwise he would regret it his whole life. He was very sure this time unlike other times that he would tell her about his love. The guy was playing his last card to make her own, but God had written some other fate for both. “HE” finally wrote a proposal and thought twice before sending it to her. I would have loved to quote his proposal but that will be breaching the privacy line. The proposal was precise and had a lot of inf...

Chapter 2, We played Cricket on mountains

In chapter 1, I opened about how I got into this mass communication. In this chapter I will tell you about the experiences of field. When I was done with graduation, I was looking for a job. Even though I wanted it to be related to journalism but I didn’t get one. There were people back from hometown telling me to find one and utilise my time.   My brother had a friend, who got me hooked with my first job as a content writer which didn’t last more than 20 days. Neither I enjoyed working there nor they paid enough for me to stay. Once, when I was working there I got a call from someone whom I knew from my previous internship asking me to work for a   web portal in Himachal Pradesh. I was more than happy to take that offer into consideration and after talking to my parents I finally decided to take that. That’s how I reached Himachal Pradesh probably one of the beautiful places I have ever been and found myself a dream job. It was really awesome roaming between mountain...
